Topic1: Surprise Session on Data

Speaker Profile:


Vinod Kumar has worked with SQL Server extensively since joining the industry over a decade ago. Before joining Microsoft, he was a Microsoft MVP for SQL Server for more than 3 years. He now works with Microsoft as APAC OCP Technical Evangelists Lead.He is a well-known speaker at all major Microsoft and third party technical conferences.

Topic2: Azure SQL Database - High Availability

Configuring high availability on Azure SQL Database comes with a few options. The following session provides an overview on concepts of Geo Replication, Elastic Pools and Azure Failover Groups and how they can be used in providing high availability for Azure SQL Database. Session would involve few demos on configuring high availability and would provide the audience a clear understanding on developing resilient applications on Azure SQL Database.

Speaker Profile:

Nagaraj Venkatesan(Microsoft Data Platform MVP,) is a SQL Server enthusiast since 2005 currently working as Senior Database Administrator for NCS Pte Ltd, Singapore. At NCS, Nagaraj maintains databases used by one of the busiest public facing applications in the city. As a active member of SQL Server community , Nagaraj leads the team managing Singapore SQL Server Pass Chapter ( User group ). As a part of the team, Nagaraj has organized many user group meet up sessions, in addition to being a regular speaker at them. Nagaraj shares his technical knowledge at strictlysql.blogspot.com and also by contributing at public SQL Server forums. He has also written articles at sqlservercentral.com.
